On the premise that a person enters a clubs contest only once,
1) how many contests should a person be able to win before everyone else starts thinking, “enough already”?
2) Is there a limit or do the other singers have to improve to compete at the same level?
3) Should a person who sings professionally (getting paid to sing, excluding contest winnings) be allowed to compete in amateur competition?
99 times out of 100 the first line of judging criteria is “vocal ability” When I see this phrase, the first thing I assume is the the singer being judged has accurate pitch, clear phrasing, and effective song delivery. There are times when I strongly feel the judges overlook the nuances of a performance and are more influenced by the person’s looks, dress, or how familiar they are with them. Let’s have a contest where the judges are blindfolded and have to rely on their ears for their opinions instead of their eyes……………
This place could hit most of the categories.
If your into the local crowd, this could work for you.
If your looking for a good sound… nah!
Looking for a host that can keep a rotation going and work with you while you sing… nah!
“Don’t mess with the karaoke host”
Running a contest… okay, today is tuesday we’ll use these rules. No, thats for Monday… the other Monday.
Great Rock song… Wow, I can almost hear the music over the singer.
Acceptable Genre for the contest… Rap, Hip Hop, R&B, R&B/Pop, otherwise you’ll never qualify
Need more be said.
